A long time neglected property overlooking the San Lorenzo beach of Gijón, to be turned into a dreamy seaside apartment for an Asturian-Belgian family. A fresh, open atmosphere, simple, tactile finishes, aims to maximize the breathtaking views on the Gulf of Bizcay, making them the central point of the project.
Entrance opens softly on the living space trough two curved walls that disguise a small but bright bathroom and an open kitchenette.
The apartment is thought to be an open-space to enjoy time together. Built-in, masonry seats for both dining area and an oversize sofa to enjoy the views of the horizon, as well as another seat on the terrace, meant for outdoor dining are marking the space.
A cozy bedroom also designed to make the most of the seaside views, completes the scheme.
Materials are simple, natural and tactile. Micro-cement, white walls and wooden details, all to enhance and complement the presence of the sea. A coarse, rough finish runs on the beams and ceilings and on the thick wall with big, strayed windows, to modulate the light.
